I decided to create a beauty blog because it is a world that I am passionate about: I think that taking care of yourself and looking good is a very important part of people's self-esteem, and in that sense, something basic to feel good.
The truth is that I have always been a great blog reader. Many of those who have been for the same time as me (almost 8 years) have been, and are great references when it comes to getting rich.
Oops! Lots !! They have copied content to me, sometimes, they have also left me spam, blogger has given failures ... Lately, I usually have fewer problems of this type (I cross my fingers) because I have been learning something, but this year
So,I have been the one who has proposed to learn a little more about how to improve my blog, at all levels. I like - with each anniversary - making resolutions for myself (interact more with readers, improve images or learn as I say, more SEO things) and the truth is that I notice that little by little, I am growing.
For the texts, I write directly to bloggers. I take the images with my Nikon camera (which I also use to record videos) or with my mobile (a Samsung Galaxy 6). I edit with Lightroom and Befunky for videos, the Windows Media Maker. As you can see, nothing is very sophisticated.
But I think I get a lot out of them.
That's another purpose I made for myself a year! And I already have many networks that I update daily (or weekly, in the case of YouTube). I leave them to you:
No… of monetizing I don't have much idea. Yes, I do collaborations and sometimes, a sponsored post, but "earn money" on a fixed amount ... not at all.
Be clear that you do it because you are PASSIONATE: do not look for quick success because you will lose yourself enjoying the process, your blog will lose freshness and you, illusion.
Put all five senses to learn! You will be amazed at how inspiring and enriching this world can be. Practice, look, observe, try ...
PARTICIPATE: A blog is not a newspaper or a magazine, there must be interaction. With other blogs, with readers, with RSS.
First, because I liked beauty and discovering new topics, but above all because I was not comfortable in the work I was doing as an Administrative Officer and I knew that you could live off a blog.
A computer science teacher taught me the basics, then I just went looking for things on the Internet but I have not had anyone as a reference.
The biggest difficulty is that if you want to be legal or avoid bad situations, you have to register as a Freelancer and that entails many obligations. In the end, you solve them by paying because it compensates you to work from home and because it is the job that I love, and no matter how much I pay, it continues to compensate me, at least for now.
To write articles I think a lot about the beauty problems that I usually encounter and sometimes I complement it with my YouTube videos
I spread my blog through social networks, especially Facebook and beauty groups.
If I currently live from my blog, although I complement it with other editor jobs, which have come to me thanks to writing on my blog every day, therefore I recommend it to every one, since many times you do not live from a blog, but it can take us to other jobs.
A lot of desire, a lot of dedication and leave envy aside.
Faced with the change in the labor system, it was reinventing itself or dying (at a professional level of course) so I opted for one of my weaknesses which were social networks and blogs. I started taking a master's degree, all kinds of workshops, networking and blogging workshops and events. And without a doubt, one of my passions has always been cosmetics. The choice was easy.
Blogs like Susana GarcÃa's The Beauty Blog, or My Brushes and Shadows, which I was lucky enough to meet at the Loreal building in Madrid. I was struck by the great personality that she imposes on each of her photos and entries. At an international level, well, many, starting with Carolin Hirons who is very funny and a super mom, Johanna Goodard or Emili Weiss.
There are many technical difficulties and more if you do not have the budget to help you or make your Blog. For me, problems are solved based on time and dedication. Thus I managed to become an expert in WordPress and be able to set up and manage my blog efficiently.
Only social networks, especially Instagram and Facebook, and my WordPress. Canva helps me too.
How do you spread your blog?
As I said above, especially networks like Instagram, Facebook and also Twitter. There are also directories to go further like Blogging.
Do you make money with the blog?
Yes, for a long time I have been charging in money or in products the links to my post, mentions of online stores or blogs. I have some very well positioned posts, naturally, and they already cover my expenses and give me some profitability.

Onlyness by Vanessa
Why did you decide to create a beauty blog?
I have always loved writing and, more than 3 years ago, I spent my day working and studying, surrounded by people who did not share my passion for beauty, so except when I was meeting some friends, I had no one to talk to about it. For this reason, I decided to create onlyness.es to talk about cosmetics, beauty, makeup, series… as if I were having coffee with a virtual friend!
Who have been your references?
The truth is that I follow quite a few blogs and YouTube channels, but it could be said that my references in the world of beauty have been 3: Marta from the Ratolina YouTube channel, Mari Carmen from the blog, and YouTube channel Marikowskaya, and Alejandra from TheZombieRebel blog. All 3 have that balance between detailed content and closeness that I love and that I try to convey and make people feel when someone reads a new post on my blog.
What technical difficulties have you encountered and how have you solved them?
The main difficulties I've encountered have been due to wanting to do everything myself.
Many times I have wanted to change the design of the blog and I have found that I did not know how to do it or I have wanted to take a photo of a product in which I wanted to go out myself and I did not have enough hands for it. 😉 However, one of the best things I owe to onlyness.es is that it has made me learn to configure a professional domain, to design a logo, modify CSS and HTML, to improve my photographic quality ... It has helped me to realize that with time, affection and a lot of patience you can improve little by little.
What tools do you use to generate your articles and audiovisual content?
I read blogs and watch YouTube videos daily so I always come up with an idea for an article that I also want to do, or a product I want to talk about or want to try comes to mind. When an idea occurs to me, I take the opportunity to write it down in a notebook along with a small outline of the post and, during the week I write the draft on the laptop so, on the weekend, which is when I have more time, take the opportunity to take the photos and edit them, to have the post ready for Sunday morning.
So my basic tools are usually a notebook, a pen, my laptop, my camera, and the products that I will teach.
How do you spread your blog?
The way to publicize my blog and the publications I make on it is through social networks. Where I feel most comfortable is on Twitter and Instagram since they are the networks that allow me the most interaction and make it not a "one-way" communication.
Another network that I also use a lot to attract traffic to my blog is Pinterest since it helps the images in the posts reach many more people.
Do you make money with the blog?
online for me is a hobby, but yes, I accept collaborations. It is true that throughout these 3 years that I have been with her they have offered me collaborations, but, except for a couple of occasions, in most cases, they have not been in exchange for money but in exchange for products of the brand or store posed by collaboration.
I firmly believe that this is the strategy that benefits both parties the most since it allows the brand to appear naturally within my blog and it gives me the opportunity to create new content by showing their products and talking about them.
Three essential tips to start creating a beauty blog?
The first and most important for me would be that you like the theme and enjoy what you do. Talk about the products you like, about the latest news that has hit the market, interact with the people who leave you comment both on the blog and on the networks. Remember that surely one of the reasons why you want to open the blog is because you want someone to read what you write, so ... if they are already reading you, why not answer them and show them that you are there?
The second would be to try not to compete with other bloggers. It's great to have references to admire and

Why did you decide to create a beauty blog?
By life things. Mine took a turn a few years ago and I decided to take a professional makeup course because it was what I was really passionate about. After a few months of obtaining the degree, I wanted to do something to make myself known. I love writing and telling everyone what I know and know about beauty and makeup products. That is why I decided to create my blog.
Who have been your references?
Well, in this I have to say that before I was a consumer of blogs I was a consumer of YouTube and coincidentally the girls I followed had a blog. My references in this sense are without a doubt Aishawari and Makeupzone, both with YouTube channels and blogs.
What technical difficulties have you encountered and how have you solved them?
Ufff, all? Hehe… Seriously, I had no idea what it was like to start a blog from scratch. I've always been very googling, with everything. Since I remember that the internet exists, I have always resorted to the search engine for everything I wanted to know how to do it. I do not forget YouTube, where there are videos of everything, from how to start a blog from scratch to modify it without having any idea of programming. Now I have even managed to modify the HTML code of my blog template to make various aspects of it have the touch I want.
What tools do you use to generate your articles and audiovisual content?
Apart from the computer, something obvious, hehe, when I write an article, the first thing I have is the product I'm going to write about and my experience testing it. For audiovisual content, I have a Nikon D90 camera and a Sony A5000 with which I record videos. Regarding lighting, I only have a small LED spotlight, I would like to be able to invest in a ring of light, but for now, that is impossible.
How do you spread your blog?
Through my social networks. At first, I opened an account in all the possible ones, so many that I don't even remember, but over time I have limited myself to spreading it through the ones I have the most followers such as my Facebook page, Instagram, and especially through a collection in Google+ where I currently have more than 176,000 followers and is the social network that generates the most visits to the blog.
Do you make money with the blog?
I think you cannot consider making money what I get. I only generate income from the advertising of the blog and the YouTube channel, but it is a very small amount, insignificant considering the number of hours and work it takes to have a blog.
Three essential tips to start creating a beauty blog?
The first is to be clear about the blog's niche, that is, the subject on which whoever wants to open it and the audience it is directed to will focus. The second would say that you have to be clear about the design and appearance of it and do and undo everything you need before publishing anything. The third enjoy what you do, publish at least once a week, advertise the entries through social networks and not overwhelm with the followers.

Baby Cosmetics Blog, by Lidia
Why did you decide to create a beauty blog?
I decided to create a blog because I really like the world of beauty and makeup, I saw that other girls shared their opinions about the products and, I was encouraged to also share my point of view or experience.
Who have been your references?
My references have been changing a bit over the time that I have been with the blog. If we refer to the initials, I saw a lot of Carolina, arroin80.
What technical difficulties have you encountered and how have you solved them?
Initially, it was choosing the platform on which to host the blog, after reading a lot on google I opted for blogger since for me the blog is a part of my free time, and, for now, I do not consider it necessary to pay for WordPress.
Then came the problems with the images, since the blogger noticed that the storage was going to be limited and, I started using external websites to upload the web, which now has caused me to have some posts in which the images have disappeared. Luckily, now blogger has removed that limit and I no longer have that problem with new posts.
Currently, the technical problem I have is with the blog template, since I would like to be able to modify it, but I cannot find any that convinces me. Thus, as the power to improve the images of the blog entries.
Another difficulty I have is with the video editor, I am trying to learn through tutorials on how to get the most out of it.
What tools do you use to generate your articles and audiovisual content?
The blog is hosted by blogger. For both images and videos, I have recently purchased the camera: Sony Alpha 5000, in order to improve the quality.
For some images, I use canvas or another image editor, and for Power Director videos
How do you spread your blog?
I have a section on the blog so that people can follow me by email, so every time I upload a new entry they receive an email with the notice. Also, I usually notify in all my RSS of a new post or video: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and, Google +.
Do you make money with the blog?
Although if I have received direct remuneration from some companies for the creation of content about their brand, I cannot say that I earn money with the blog, since it does not generate income continuously, if not, on some specific occasion. Normally, brands tend to collaborate more by sending some type of product.
Three essential tips to start creating a beauty blog?
Be patient, it is very difficult to gain a foothold or to reach people.
Be consistent with posts.
Be honest, people are a little tired of everything being advertising and there are no real opinions about the products or experiences.

Another one! Let's go with the Khimma Dressing Table 🙂
The Khimma Dressing Table by Gemma
Why did you decide to create a beauty blog?
Because when I started I didn't know how to put on makeup and I needed to learn from scratch, I thought there were still people like me and we could learn together.
We evolved and learned together and now, after 7 years, I think that phase is over and now I am focused on keeping up to date with new collections and products.
Who have been your references?
The truth is that I have never had references, I have wanted to be myself, but among us, my references have always been the UK style, her clean style, with lots of light and dedicated care and care to the photos has been the inspiration for change image of my blog and my images.
What technical difficulties have you encountered and how have you solved them?
I did not know much about photos, and in this, I have been very self-taught, trial and error has been my day to day, until I found the level I was looking for for my blog and my images, even though I always think about getting the best of myself in each one of the actions of my blog, I believe that learning is learned every minute of your life.
What tools do you use to generate your articles and audiovisual content?
Well, oddly enough, little, I have a tiny photography studio that allows me to illuminate and create very cool backgrounds, a "bridge" camera, and mobile. Regarding photographic retouching, Photoshop, even though I control a lot, I barely retouch the light, a little contrast, and the issue of image size ... I try to spend more time taking the photo than retouching it.
How do you spread your blog?
Well, the truth is that I am in a moment of my life of many changes, so this whole new situation absorbs me, so I have directly focused on continuing to create content on my blog, which is what I like, and on Instagram, which allows you to enjoy product photography.
Do you make money with the blog?
This question is usually taboo for many or they shout it from the rooftops or deny it. I earn very little because my way of thinking about the blog and getting paid
1.Why CREATE a beauty blog?
In a beauty blog, you can make known all your concerns regarding makeup and beauty. Remember that you only master one thing when you are able to teach it to others. Therefore, writing and telling your experiences will make you master what you say and this will be of your own benefit.
Also, you can earn money with it, but we will tell you about that later.
2. How to find a reference?
Finding a reference is important at the beginning. Be careful, as the bloggers have told you, you have to find your own style, but everything will be easier if you discover someone with experience. All their tips and ways of working, you can use them to INSPIRE, and we put it in capital letters because although it is obvious, we have to emphasize that you do not have to copy content.
Decide which channel is going to be your strong suit, whether the blog itself, a specific social network, or YouTube. Find someone who is doing great on your channel of choice and analyze what they do.
3. How to overcome technical difficulties that may arise?
There are two answers and they are very easy:
-Training yourself
-Hiring someone
The choice you make will depend on your budget.
If you opt for the first, we recommend that you choose one of these two platforms to create the blog.
WordPress
Blogger
In both, you have the option to choose the paid version or the free one.
We strongly recommend opting for the paid one even if you are starting out because the investment is minimal.
Stay tuned and we will tell you how much that investment amounts to.
WordPress has the advantage that there are plenty of free training resources on the Internet. Hundreds of tutorials on how to create a blog with WordPress, free templates, and great community.
You have to acquire your own domain and hosting. The domain will be the name of your blog and the hosting will be its home. As we have mentioned before, the price of a domain is usually less than € 10, and a tiny hosting to host a single blog can be found for less than € 20. In both cases the fees are Annual.
This will open up a whole path of possibilities that you won't have if you do it with a free account.
The following tutorial explains step by step how to create your own blog with WordPress. There they tell you about sites where you can find domains and hostings at very low prices.
Blogger being from Google has an advantage point when it comes to SEO positioning. But it is much more cumbersome, with fewer templates and less customizable.
If you opt for the free version, you have to click here to create a WordPress blog
And here to create a blog on Blogger (You have to have an activated Gmail account)

4. What tools to use to create audiovisual content?
Once again everything will depend on the budget you have.
-Mobile
-DSLR camera with video recording
If you are passionate about photography, it is recommended that you opt for the second option. You can be much more creative and achieve incredible results.
As with WordPress, there are endless resources online to learn how to take photos and videos in a semi-professional way. Of course, you will have to give it the desire and time. In this link you will find a good photography course for beginners.
Opting for mobile has the advantage that it is much more versatile, you always carry it with you, and the latest generation mobiles take truly exceptional photos and video.
«PRO tip: always take care of the lighting»
We strongly recommend that you download one of the following mobile photography applications
ProCamera
Camera +
Both apps have a very low cost and will multiply by 10 the possibilities of the native camera of your mobile. Look for them in your app store.
For the post-production of these contents, if you have used the DSLR camera, you will need a powerful computer and editing programs. Bloggers have recommended Photoshop for photos, and Final Cut for video.
They are two incredible programs, but the learning curve for both is quite long. However, if your choice has been the DSLR camera, you should opt for these tools. Final Cut is only for MAC, but if you have a PC, the idea is that you opt for the Adobe Creative Cloud package, which incorporates Photoshop, Adobe Premiere and After Effects. These last two are for video editing and special effects.
We are not going to fool you, these programs are expensive. The whole package starts at € 60 per month. It will always depend on the objectives you have set for yourself.
If you want something easy and free, we recommend the following:
For photos:
Instagram, Yes, the social network itself has a multitude of filters and possibilities to retouch photos. And it also already has versions to install on the computer. In this way, you can kill two birds with one stone: edit your photos, and post content on a major social network.
For video:
iMovie: only if you are a Mac user.
